FOREST GREEN

Based on the original Durham, this special Pullman edition takes the cushion case watch to a new level of luxury. The dial is a rich dark green with a metallic brushed finish which causes the colour to shift in tone depending on the light. Sat on top of this base dial is a raised ring with a radial brushed finish that creates the signature sector dial effect that is synonymous with the Cushion Case collection. Mounted on this ring are the highly polished silver markers, a mix of batons and Roman numerals, that are paired with a sharp polished dauphine handset. Accenting these silver elements is the seconds sub-dial, which has a sunken silver channel with an engine-turned finish. All these details come together to make the Durham Pullman one of our most sophisticated watches. One that’s suitable for both everyday wear and a black tie event.

Features

Sector Dial - The watch features a sector dial design, with the hour markers mounted onto a raised ring with a contrasting colour and texture to the main dial.

Curvaceous Comfort - The cushion case sits comfortably on any wrist, with a thickness of only 10.5mm and a compact lug-to-lug of 43.8mm.

Manual Drive - The watches in the Cushion Case collection are powered by Swiss hand-wound mechanical movements with custom decoration, which can be viewed through a sapphire case back.

STORY

Named after Mary Edith Durham, a British explorer, artist and anthropologist. She began to travel in the then hardly visited Balkans from 1900 for the next twenty years. She worked for a number of relief organisations and became a champion of the Albanian mountaineers whose lands were coveted by neighbouring nations. Her studies of Balkan ethnography led to a series of books, of which 'High Albania' is the best known and is still regarded as the best guide to the customs and society of the highlands of northern Albania. Her papers are held by the Royal Anthropological Institute, London.

The model gets its secondary name, Pullman, from The Pullman Company, which was a manufacturer of train cars. Since the early 20th century, the company painted its train cars a distinct dark green that has since become known as Pullman Green.

If you look up the definition of elegance, you will find that it means “pleasingly ingenious and simple.” That is the Lethbridge in a nutshell.→

At 38.5mm wide with short, curved lugs, the Mansfield’s fully polished case sits perfectly on the wrist, relatively small and elegant, in a cool, distinctly modern way.→

The watch overall is stunning, feels weighty (but not heavy) for what it is, and its overall slim appearance and size look great as both a sporty and dress model that would look equally smart peeking out from under a suit cuff or with a t-shirt and jeans.→
