CHOCOLATE ORANGE

The Portobello makes a statement with its bold combination of orange and blue. The blue dial has a “chocolate bar” grid pattern that’s punctuated by recessed engine-turned-black sub-dials. Applied to this dial are polished faceted markers that taper towards the dial’s centre. Around the outside of these sits a contrasting white minute track. Just like the hour markers the hands are polished, apart from their base, which is blue to match the dial. Both the hands and markers are filled with luminous BGW9 Super-LumiNova. Of course, the star of the Portobello is its bidirectional rotating bezel with an “Orangina” coloured ceramic insert. The bright shade is the perfect complement to the navy dial, and it gives the Portobello that signature Farer twist.

Features

Sublime Slopes - The lugs are the defining feature of the Chrono-Contempo’s case. In addition to a large polished chamfer that cuts into the brushed finish, the lugs themselves have a “ski slope” shape where the tips curve slightly upwards. It’s a subtle touch that has a big impact on how the watch feels on the wrist.

Supreme Comfort - The Portobello's case measures 38.5mm in diameter and is made of 316L stainless steel. As to the watch’s thickness, its total depth is only 13.4mm, which makes the Portobello remarkably easy to wear.

Glow Up - The hands, hour markers, and bezel have all had applications of BGW9 Super-LumiNova, ensuring legibility under any circumstances.

Continental GMT - The bezel is bidirectional and has a ceramic insert that’s etched with a twelve-hour scale so that it can be used to track a second time zone.

Swiss Precision - Inside the watch beats a manually wound Swiss Sellita SW510M b movement. This dependable calibre is the perfect choice to rely on to keep the Chrono-Contempo ticking away, and it has 23 jewels, Incabloc shock protection and a large 63-hour power reserve.

STORY

As you might have guessed, the Portobello takes its name from London’s iconic Portobello Road. The vibrant buildings of this bustling street made for the perfect inspiration for our colourful chronographs. Portobello Road began to take form as the area was urbanised in the mid-1800s, and takes its name from Portobello Farm, which itself was named after the Battle of Porto Bello in 1739. As London developed during the Victorian era, so did Portobello, and its now famous market became increasingly popular, developing into the landmark we know today.
