Updated for 2022 with sapphire insert bezel, black gloss outline markers for improved clarity, and a deeper engraved grid dial for a more distinctive appearance. Inside the case, the power unit has been upgraded with the SELLITA SW330-2 Top Grade GMT movement, delivering a 56 hour power reserve.

Made for modern adventurers, the Maze II GMT Bezel is a fresh take on a classic form - with a dial combining bold shapes and an angular aesthetic to create a distinctive look. The unique sepia white grid engraved dial with raised highly polished black markers in circular and rectangular shapes have been designed for clear readability with the Farer arrow marque clearly marking 12. The external bi-directional, split colour sapphire 24 hour bezel gives a reassuringly solid reaction to being adjusted with the 24 click rotation ratchet system. The bezel thickness in particular has been carefully balanced so not to overwhelm the watch when on wrist, making it easier to read while bringing an air of elegance to the overall form.

TRAVEL LIGHT

The GMT Bezel case is a multi-faceted beauty. Made of marine-grade 316L stainless steel, circular brushed top with precision highly polished bevel edges, horizontal-brushed sides, set against a polished back - creating a visually light effect to a robust case. Individually numbered and measuring a comfortable 41mm diameter on the wrist, 44mm lug-to-lug and 12.3mm in height. The case is framed by the external 24 click rotation bi-directional sapphire GMT bezel, for quick time-zone setting. The recessed steel crown with Farer bronze cap can be screwed down to hold a water resistance depth rating of 200m / 656ft, making this just at home on land or at sea.

Powered by the Swiss Made SELLITA SW330-2 Top Grade GMT movement. Offering a quick setting date and 24 hand adjustment, bringing a level of practicality to this travel focused complication. The ‘local’ hour/minute hands work on 12-hour time, while the ‘dual time’ GMT hand is independently adjustable to set to any 24-hour time zone and read against the bezel. The outer hour bezel can also be used to track a third time zone. Turn the bezel until the new time zone is aligned with the GMT hand. To revert to the second time zone turn the bezel until ‘24’ is aligned with the Farer arrow. The date change is linked to the traditional hour hand (local time).

STORY

Maze Hill, Crooms Hill and Charlton Way are the three roads that surround Greenwich Park in London, the fourth side is held by The Royal Naval College that backs on to the River Thames. The Park is where the Royal Observatory is situated - home to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). GMT dates back to 1884 when an international convention declared Greenwich, England as the ‘Mean Time’ against which the rest of the world’s time navigation would be compared. Still used as the global time zone alignment, it was popularised as a watch function by the globe trotting Pan Am pilots of the 1950s.
